"Marie
& Sophie" is a homage to one of the greatest scientists in history:
Marie Skłodowska-Curie.
Her story is connected to the story of Sophie in the present. She bares
the dream of becoming a great dancer. They both tell through their
life's story, that it is always worth to fight for your dreams. The
musical has great songs and ballads, cool dances and beautiful
costumes!
The musical is a cooperation between the "Marie-Curie-Gymnasium"
in Dallgow-Döberitz near Berlin and is supported by the
German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and the "Verband
deutscher Musikschulen" (Association of German Music Schools).
Additional Performances: On the 7th of November in
2017 we performed the musical in the "Werkstatt der Kulturen" in Berlin
Neukölln. The "Deutsch-Polnische Gesellschaft" invited us to show an
extra performance on the occasion of the 150th birthday of Marie Skłodowska-Curie.
The musical CD can be ordered here: mail (at) veronikafoelster.de.
We borrow the historical costumes here: Kostümkollektiv
Kreuzberg e.V.

It
was a pleasure for me to work with my students from Dallgow-Döberitz and
Falkensee on the great project "Marie
& Sophie". Despite difficulties we could celebrate a wonderful
premiere on the 18th of June in 2016 that I will always remember as one
of my greatest moments as author. The musical has been revised with new songs,
scenes and dances for 2017 and we hope that we can perform it in Paris one day!
